Has anyone ever thought about the details of their funeral?

like tunes u want played, flowers, poetry??
Has anyone ever thought about the details of their funeral?
I want a big party with all the guest laughing and dancing.I do not want it to be sad.I want them to celebrate my new life not my bodies death.I still will live in the glory of God's kingdom. The one must have song is "Spirit In The Sky" by Norman Greenbaum. Then any old rock and roll songs from the 50's and 60's will be fine.Have it catered so people will not have to bring anything.Oh and absolutely no flowers or wreaths.Yuck!I want them to bring one memento that makes them remember me and tell the others the story behind it.
Reply:I think funerals are basically for the people who remain alive. So, my funeral would have to be the way my family wants it to be. It would have to be comforting for them, since I won't really BE there anymore.
Reply:My Ex-wife was a secretary at a funeral home, so that topic was a part of weekly conversation. She would tell me what brand and model casket she wanted. I told her that I wanted a pine box. She wanted to be embalmed and I wanted to be buried as is. She wanted a vault that would protect her so she would be preserved for ages. I wanted an oak tree planted on top of me so the root could feed off of me like fertilizer.

After I'd tell her what I wanted, she'd just laugh at me. I knew that if I died before her, I was going to Glory via a fancy casket and all the trimmings. :-)
Reply:yes i have i want to be buried sitting upright in a 2 meter hole, with a bale of hay on top of me, to speed up the decomposition, with out a coffin, and with a Jacaranda planted on top of me.(this is a personal choice because blue is my sacred color)but in general i would suggest fruit trees.

this is legal all over the world

.

if everybody did that we would create sacred Forrest's ,instead of cemeteries full of concrete crosses on top of concrete slabs ,encased in murdered trees.

.

in Mexico 100 million people will automatically deforest 20.000 hectares of dense Forrest, just because they die their deaths killing thousands of trees at the same time,

and in the process break the second law of Nature, which is the Law of return, which states the dead shall be food for the living.

the Christians again lie , offend and cheat Gaia ,by saying dust to dust and not doing it,they bury their dead in zinc lined boxes preventing the corpse from returning to other life forms ,and breaking the cycle of life ,.

just for this, they will ALL be damned and burn in Hell for all Eternity ,and well deserved that is ,one cannot keep breaking the Laws of Nature and walk away unpunished.

for music id like the Doors -this is the end.
Reply:From time to time I think about it, but then I think I just want it to be right for those who I leave behind.
Reply:I personally think alot of people think about that stuff, and yes I have.
Reply:Don't really care because I will be dead.
Reply:Yes. Not to be morbid. I just don't want my family to have to plan it.

I saw the most amazing tombstone when I was driving down a country road once. It was an old family cemetary.

The tombstone was quite big with handprints of all family members on it in bright colors. An inscription would be on it either: Keep believing in the power of love or

Life is not measured by the amount of breaths we take but, by the moments that take our breath away.

I will have special memories that have occured throughout my life.....take your breath away moments.....that shaped who I am.People will read them so that others will know how much I cared for them.

In lieu of flowers, I read this in an obituary once........

and thought it was great.

IN lieu of flowers or contributing to a charity, take the money that would have been spent and do something with your family...your loved ones. Enjoy the time that you have together because there is nothing more important than the time we spend with our family. Create a special memory that you can enjoy for years to come.

The song will be the song that I sang to my son before he went to sleep each night....Amazing Grace.
Reply:Yes - Barry white, morrissey, magic numbers

but I don't want anyone to see me go I would rather do that alone - whilst they attend a little service at the church in town.
Reply:yeah...I want thank god and greyhound she's gone played at mine....roy clark sings it!!!!
Reply:Me, all the time! I know lots of people who have their desired funerals written down just in case.
Reply:My friend's father passed away a few years ago from cancer. He planned the readings and music for the memorial service and told his daughters to be sure to have ballons decorating the room. He wanted his going to a better life to be a celebration.
Reply:Yeah, I will be cremated in a cardboard coffin, I want my family to benefit from what I leave instead of those Fkn

rip off funeral directors
Reply:Well, it's all to early to tell, but as of right now, I'm hoping for an Elanor Rigby funeral. I'm not going to have many friends (hopefully) so we'll see what happens, I'm not requesting much but the long want of rest.
Reply:no i just feel my family could put all my baby stuff like my old drawing in my burial like the egyptians do
