Type of flowers for wedding? Turquoise?

Hiya, i am not the biggest fan of flowers in general (they mostly remind me of funerals!:-) so i am looking for flowers for my wedding that are cheerful, fun and not too serious. I saw these lovely ones in Oz last year, singapore orchids- they were turquoise at the base and came out purple at the top- sooo unusual! I want to have my bridesmaids in Turquoise or Teal and am getting married in December. I live in Ireland %26amp; have no idea what is in season or maybe i could get them shipped over by interflora? Any advice is really appreciated:)

oh gees, I was in a turqouise dress wedding last year, it was AWFUL!!! it looked like a wanna be Tiffany's wedding, everyone was like "oh sara must really like tiffany's" and it wasnt even supposed to be like that

go with the flower, that sounds beautiful but go with a different color dress

another bit of advice, I am a crazy red rose lover, and I only wanted red roses, but the florist talked me into putting some accent flowers as well which i was weary about but it really made things more interesting and beautiful... have a florist help you pair some other flowers with the orchids.. that way you can pick a neutral color dres as well, also, since it will be winter you dont want to do a spring color ... weddings in the winter %26amp; fall should always be done in black, brown, dark burgundy, that kind of thing..... (i got married in the winter and the ettiquette lady told us that)
Reply:how about silk flowers? They are growing all the more popular now. They don't wilt, they are not rushed (as they can be made in advance), and they look so real now-a-days no one would know they were fake. look up 'lynnlifting' on ebay, she is a seller that does silk and posts them direct to you. the link to her on-line shop is below.

Reply:Yellow, cheery flowers would look nice against teal or turquoise. How about simple daisies or just a couple of yellow roses?
Reply:When i wasa a bridsmaid. I had white roses with little diamonds sticking out in between they were soo nice and they were really cheerful.
Reply:Hot pink gerbers
